365 islets, known as Isletas of Granada, are the product of a violent eruption of Mombacho volcano. Over 300 rocks thrown in the air, now forming islands few kilometers away! The wild nature and the day-a-day routine of the local families make it an ideal place for a boat ride as a fun, relaxing way of exploring Central America’s biggest lake. The wildlife around the islands is abundant. During the tour you can see cormorants, herons, kingfisher, oropendola, hawks, and many other birds. We make a stop on “Monkey island”, where few monkeys will welcome you by stealing some bananas you thankfully brought with you.
